MultiAd® Creator Professional combines premium page-layout capabilities with drawing, illustration and image manipulation tools without the purchase of expensive add-ons. Newspaper production groups, agency creative departments, marketing- communication groups and professional designers are typical users of this application. Features: Multiple-Column Text This feature divides a placed text block into the desired number of columns and allows for a userdefined gutter width. Users simply place a text block, click on a text block setting and fill in the number of columns and gutter width, and Creator will replace the original text block. This feature allows users to quickly define a space with a text block and move on immediately to formatting. Preset Sizes for 48-inch Web Presses: Based on recent trends in the newspaper industry to publish using a 48-inch Web press, Creator now provides a preset Page Size Set of SAUs for 48-inch Web presses, in addition to the 50-inch and 52-inch Page Size Sets. Print Press Spreads: This feature revolutionizes the way users can print from Creator. Users can now reorder the Creator document to print in the exact order that is necessary for their press or local printer. In addition, Creator offers four print order options: alternating outside-inside, alternating inside-outside, outside only or inside only. These options are also available when exporting to PDF. Sort: This feature allows users to place a text block with information that contains names, prices or addresses, and resort that text block to accommodate a change in the desired order of the entries. Users can resort the prices or numbers in ascending or descending order. Words such as names or addresses can also be resorted in a different order as well. Creator provides the option to select sections of the text to resort, no matter if the sort criteria is the first word in the paragraph, the last word or any word in between. Soft Shadow This feature opens up new creative possibilities for professional graphic designers. Users can apply a soft shadow to any element, path or graphic. Live text or text that has been converted to a path can also have a soft shadow. To create just the right special effect, users can adjust the horizontal and vertical offset as well as the radius. Contain Graphic with Place Graphic Menu: This feature saves users time when placing a graphic into a container. Users can define the element to contain and then select “Place Graphic into Container” from the Files Menu or use the shortcut for this function. The graphic chosen will then be placed directly into the container, using the predefined container settings. Baseline Grid: This feature allows users to set and lock a baseline grid to improve the appearance of text when creating text in multiple columns or with multiple text blocks across the layout. The baseline is the invisible line on which letters and numbers rest. Since headlines and body copy may not share the same point size, aligning their baselines to a grid ensures that they line up across the layout. A baseline grid can be applied to a selected page or to a master spread. Containment Self-Scaling: This feature allows any element to be assigned its own individual container setting. This setting supersedes any previous setting on the tool itself. There is no need for users to go back and review or change the tool setting every time they wish to contain an item in the element. There is no need for them to remember the shortcuts to temporarily override the container tool setting. Users can simply doubleclick to select the element info and choose from four container settings. Combined with a matrix, this feature allows every element in the matrix to have the same container setting. This proves invaluable in speed and ease for users who wish to make a quick template and use each element as an individual container. Containment Tool The Containment Tool allows users to place multiple elements inside another element. They can scale to fit exactly, fit within container or fill and crop. Acting like a picture frame, the tool allows users to select elements and individually edi t each element in the Open Element window. Specifications Palette: Using a slider, this feature provides users with the ability to change size, leading, auto-leading, tracking, horizontal scale, vertical offset, word space, space before paragraph, space after paragraph, boldness, slant, outline weight, shadow boldness, shadow slant, shadow horizontal offset, shadow vertical offset and shadow scale (slider or numeric). Multiple Color Gradients: Creator gradient choices include up to 256 colors in six different arrays. Users can adjust the center point and angle of gradient or apply a gradient to fill, frame or shadow of any element. Scriptable: This feature allows users to use AppleScript or COM (Component Object Model) to automate frequently used actions and commands, giving them a dynamic set of design tools. They can add commands to the contextual menu that appears when users control-click or right-click in a Creator spread. They can override or enhance actions in Creator by attaching scripts to those actions. They can also attach data to a document or its objects to be used in integrated environments with custom software. Make Matrix Tool The Make Matrix command allows users to duplicate any selected element, or group of elements, in a u serdefined array by rows and columns. Users can specify the size, location and spacing between the elem ents. Layers: This feature allows users to control front-to-back ordering to prevent accidental editing of elements and to visualize multiple layouts. A document must have at least one layer and can have up to 256 layers. On-Screen Color Separations: On-screen previews of each of the process plates allow users to correct errors on their monitor before they print. They have specific control over how spot and process colors are separated. Users can adjust the angles on each spot plate to minimize undesirable effects. Tables: This feature allows users to organize and present text and graphics in a grid. A table consists of rows and columns of cells, which can be formatted just like a text block with features, such as placement of graphics within text, fill and frame attributes, and type and paragraph styles. Users can create a table by specifying row and column count, or by specifying column count and dragging to the desired size. Styles Palette: This feature enables users to apply multiple sets of formatting instructions to text. They can access type styles, paragraph styles, style models or element styles that they have created. They can apply these styles to selected text or elements in the active document. CMDI: (Creator Media Database Interface) This feature allows users to search for, retrieve and place images from AdBuilder.com and other external remote servers. A palette displays a list of images found, which can be dragged onto a document window for download and placement, or to the Files Palette. Files Palette: This feature permits users to create a reference list of Creator documents, text and a variety of graphics, including native Photoshop and PDF files, and then place them into a document directly from the palette for quick use. Export/Place PDF: This feature enables users to directly export spreads, pages or selections as PDF files. They can also place single-page PDF files for use as a graphic format. EPS previews generate by rasterizing the PostScript, allowing users to print EPS/PDF files to non-PostScript printers. They can use the PDF to view across platforms and Web browsers and to make presentations.
